The Kidde Smoke Detector, Battery Powered Smoke Alarm with Test Button, Battery Included, model I9050, helps protects you and your family from the dangers of fire and smoke using ionization sensor technology. Ionization sensing alarms detect invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms; both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms should be installed to help ensure maximum detection of the various types of fire that can occur within the home. Operating on one 9-volt alkaline battery, the Kidde battery-operated smoke detector provides reliable detection of smoke or fire, even during power outages. When smoke is detected, the 85-decibel alarm will sound with three beeps, a pause, then three beeps, repeating. A red LED & a test-hush button ensures the unit is working properly. After 10 years of life, the smoke alarm will need to be disposed of and replaced. UL Certified with a 10-year limited warranty. Meets requirements of UL217, NFPA72, NFPA 101, FHA, & HUD.
